What is the Difference Between an Escape Room & an Immersive Adventure?
By definition, an escape room, or “room escape,” is a place where you must search for clues, and solve puzzles to escape the room before time runs out. Online room escapes, or “escape games,” had players searching for “the key” to the door to exit. Even though we use the word “escape room” to describe our business, we do not lock people in rooms, and we do not care so much about beating a clock. Instead, players at Magic Escape Rooms receive a mission and work together to complete that mission at our Columbus escape room location (Never a locked door to get out through at the end of the game.)
An “immersive adventure,” differs from the “breakout game,” incorporates custom props that naturally fit within the game’s theme. Our custom-built props may require players to perform fun tasks or to use them as a puzzle to complete a thrilling mission.
Our adventures are multi-room sets. We offer unlimited hints from our game masters and never have you play with strangers.
When we use keys and locks, it is for specific reasons - usually to fit the time era of the game. That said, our rooms are GEN 3 with lots of electronics and special effects built-in, behind-the-scene, for invigorating “aha moments.” We like guests to feel gratified upon solving puzzles and completing tasks.
